Inis Mór, April 2009

April 4, 2009

Today was…amazing…fantastic…breathtaking…incredible. Really, there are no words. What I saw and did and took in today I am going to remember for the rest of my life.

The Aran Islands; I WILL live there one day. Inis Mór, this gorgeous island with a very small population – however, there are always tourists there and it’s what keeps the place thriving.

God has been so good to us on this trip – in spiritual ways and He has been watching over all the little practical details as well. For instance, Ireland usually doesn’t see much of the sun, but it was out with a vengeance today, and made the island we went to even more spectacular!

We took a 45 minute ferry there and the first thing we did was rent bicycles! That’s right, I rode a bicycle around a small island near Ireland. We then bought some foods for lunch (bread, cheese, crackers) and found a spot on some rocks near the beach to enjoy. Oh, but before that we rode as far as we could in one direction (breathtaking) and along the way a little dog tagged along. He would run far ahead and then look back and wait for us to catch up. He became our island guide.
