York, March 2009

March 27, 2009

Now, York, wow! This city is fantastic. It’s so quaint and so old! We arrived around 1 and were able to get into out rooms straight away. The tour manager took us on a walking tour around the city. We saw Yorkminster, many churches, many pubs, funny homes that were built up & out so that they nearly touched each other at the tops, Guy Fawkes Inn (where he was born), and learned about the general history of the city.

After the walking tour we had high tea at The Earl Gray Tea House. It was amazingly delicious. Later on we walked along part of the great big guard wall which surrounds the city. Windy, but the view was wonderful.
