I’ve been realizing something as of late: new things (good or bad) are completely and seriously and agonizingly terrifying!—withOUT Christ as the center of your life. But WITH Christ as the center of your life, new things aren’t even new.
9 What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say,
“Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.
God gives, and God takes away. But He never takes away what we ultimately need: Himself. So I take comfort knowing whether I am home or abroad, whether I am rich or poor, whether I am healthy or sick, alive or dead, captive by man or free: He is there, always the same, never changing, always loving, always full of mercy & grace, always just, always worthy of fear, always glorious, & always with arms wide open, waiting for me to say, “Yes! I am fully satisfied in CHRIST JESUS ALONE.”
